The greater Anchorage, Alaska, area is littered with rivers and streams that receive a run of silver salmon, or coho, each summer and early fall. These systems provide ample opportunity for locals and tourists to catch a few tasty salmon on Fire Cure roe as we discuss in this episode of Pautzke Outdoors filmed on the Seward Highway. I get to visit the salmon hatchery in Valdez. I've never seen this many fish in all my life!! it's crazy!!
When it comes to fishing on Alaska's Kenai Peninsula, "high density" is the nice way to put it, though the more common term for the shoulder-to-shoulder fishing commonly seen on the Kenai River is "combat fishing." But the name belies an activity that can be more conducive to friendships than fighting. Read the full article on Alaska Dispatch News: http://j.mp/akdsptch-combatfish
Millions of pink salmon return to the hatchery in Valdez, Alaska, during July and August. Literally thousands of fish clog every inch of most streams. In this footage you'll gain a first hand view of how intense the run can be. To follow my adventures on Instagram please visit: https://www.instagram.com/shafdog33

Huge Catch | Commercial Salmon Fishing In Alaska | World History Channel Welcome to WORLD HISTORY CHANNEL - home of the best documentary films and documentary movies on history, education, entertainment and more! Commercial fishing is the activity of catching fish and other seafood for commercial profit, mostly from wild fisheries. It provides a large quantity of food to many countries around the earth, but those who practice it as an industry must often pursue fish far into the ocean under adverse conditions. Large-scale commercial fishing is also known as industrial fishing. This profession has gained in popularity with the development of shows such as Deadliest Catch, Swords, and Wicked Tuna. The major fishing industries are not only owned by major corporations but by small families ...
The sheer volume of salmon that return to Bristol Bay each year is truly astounding. For those who haven't visited Alaska, it's really hard to conceptualize 32 million fish - the average sockeye return in Bristol Bay. This video gives a glimpse of the bio mass that enter the rivers and streams that make up the Bristol Bay watershed. Filmed exclusively in 2015 on the Copper River with Copper River Lodge. Alaskan guide Trevor Covich offers some insight on finding, fooling and catching silver/coho salmon on the fly. This is one of the world's great gamefish, thanks to its willingness to take a fly and its acrobatics when hooked. Filmed primarily by Trevor Covich with additional footage by Ben Paull. Music by Garrett Eaton. See more videos and unique fly tying materials at opskagit.com.
Alaska's Mat Su Valley is plush with quality salmon fisheries. Meanwhile, it's a chore to find better Chinook salmon fishing than on the Deshka River where we hopped aboard with guide Andy Couch of Fish Tale River Guides. Armed with Fire Cure eggs marinated in Pautzke Red Nectar we caught a limit of salmon in our first few casts as you'll see in this episode of Pautzke Outdoors. The very word ‘Alaska' makes you think 'adventure'. It is the most far flung destination we've visited, and it was not only the fish and wildlife that were a little different - the American fishing lodge, and the intrepid American anglers that stayed there with us were something else. Matt catches his first ever Salmon and gets a look at one of the most prolific fisheries in the world.
Fishing in Alaska. This is an Alaskan fishing trip I took to catch fish and visit family. I grew up in Alaska and spent most my life there. So it was a blast taking my sons and showing them the fishing holes in and around Anchorage, AK. In this video we flew from Dulles Virginia to Anchorage Alaska, then I tie up some salmon fishing rigs. Demonstrate corkies and spin-n-glows and how to tie a silver salmon rig. Then we drove to the Susitna valley and fished the Kashwitna river for silver salmon and rainbow trout. Fishing for salmon in Alaska. Each summer, hundreds of millions of salmon return to the Prince William Sound of Alaska. This enables one of the most sustainable fisheries on the planet, of which, I am a very proud fisherman. I work on the F/V Rafferty alongside my brother and two other friends. This video compilation was shot during our 2015 season to give you an idea of what our days look like and how we catch our fish--1.8M pounds in 2015! Enjoy and follow along with the rest of my adventures at WillfullyLiving.com!
